A Brief History of Our Church
When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “He is good; his love endures forever” (2 Chronicles 7:1-3).
Certainly, His goodness endures forever; this document is a brief history of this commission. Nine years ago, on March 23, 2015, Rev. Joseph Argbah, now apostle Joseph Argbah, was commissioned by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to start a ministry in Indianapolis with a mission to be the new brew of Disciples standing for the Gospel until Christ comes. Standing and teaching the true gospel as described by Christ in Matthew 24:13-14, (but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come). As God, who is the master planter, always does, He confirmed this vision by Rev. Presley Wegee, the founder and general overseer of Judah House International.
The seeds of this ministry were sown in the humble setting of Brother Joe Mulbah’s house, where bible study and prayer meetings were held. After several weeks of these intimate gatherings, which gradually expanded from one home to another, we found a more permanent base in the senior pastor’s home in Greenwood. The foundational members of this ministry were apostle Joseph Argbah, Mother Edwina Argbah, brother Joe Mulbah, Sister Saybah Mulbah, and Sister Maitta Massa. As the weeks turned into months, our prayers were answered, and more individuals like pastor Garmondy Johnny and Sis. Kolubo Gurley and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Weah joined our ranks.
The vision continued, and the church moved from the senior pastor’s living room to the 501 National Ave. compound. The first space that was given to the church was 502 National Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. In Genesis 49:8, the bible declares, “Judah, your brothers shall praise you. Your hand shall be on the necks of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down to you. Therefore, our enemies have not stopped attacking. The church has gone through many stages, but as it is written in Proverbs 24:16-18 (a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity. or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him. for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out).
Other people were added to the ministry at the 501 National Ave. location, for example, pastor Rufus Jallah and his family, Minister Ezekiel Dumbar, and family, Sister Kebbeh Sorsor, her children and mother, Brother Ben, Mother Nora Lloyd and her daughter, sister Emmanualine Lloyd, sister Sylvia Greene, and children, elder James Nawah and his wife, Brother James Nawah, brother Davis Galey, Sister Helen, Sister Lorraine Mulbah and family, Brother Manayango Jallah and family, Pastor Micheal Carey and family, etc.
For nine years, the church started a branch in Zimbabwe and a few other spiritual sons and daughters in Africa. In 2021, God gave the church where you are seated today. A place we consider a home and a house of prayer. This building was an office complex, but God changed it to a place of worship for His own glory.
Friends, from the beginning of this commission to now, many people have been added that we may not have the time to call today due to time. As stated from the beginning, we have come this far by faith. The road to success has not been easy, but by His grace, we are still standing on the foundation of His word. Even though this is not where we want to be, we are blessed because this is not where we start. The fight has not been easy; we have made more advances in the heart of the devil’s territory and plan not to stop until He returns.
To God be the glory!!
